About Me..

I have loved drawing and painting all my life.  It started as a small child, trying to copy everything that my brother Andrew did- he was a natural talent and leader in the field (at my house anyway).

I studied art at high school and then university but due to chronic shyness and an inability to recognise my own talent and self-promote, I chose not to pursue it as a career.  Thank goodness that we have social media and the internet now!

A family and a series of different jobs ensued- with spare time filled with creating, crafting and occasional drawing.  As my children grew, I worked in school as a volunteer, a teaching assistant and then a primary school teacher.  I really loved my job, especially art class and art club; children are so enthusiastic and keen to try new things- we had a great deal of fun creating and getting messy.

I planned to do more art when I retired, then 2020 came along- a real life changer for many.  A cancer diagnosis and surgery helped me concentrate my thoughts and think long and hard about what I really wanted to do with my life.

So, in 2021, I took the leap to focus on Art and here I am!

Life throws all sorts in your in your path and I decided I would use this as an amazing opportunity to chase my dreams.  I am really lucky, with support and encouragement from family and friends I can now indulge my passion for art, working at home and spending time with my two lovely dogs.  I feel truly blessed.

Please look at the work in my Gallery, I hope you love what you see, Jane.
